Many times, I even enjoyed just leaving it blank, as whatever I put up there would just irk me, and I did not have time to spend my days searching for a desktop picture which was sufficient to please my jaded palate.

But, as time went on, I found my search for the perfect desktop wallpaper consuming more and more of my waking hours. Pictures of sandy beaches and ocean waves would dominate my computer screen for one week and then, the very next week, suddenly it would be something quite different. Rather than look about for desktop pictures on the internet as I had been doing, I would do much better to create my own images. Armed with my brand new digital camera, acquired for just that purpose, and a almost new copy of Photoshop, I went out to capture the perfect desktop picture.

At first I snapped almost randomly, and uploaded them onto my computer haphazardly, but finally, I knew what I wanted. There was no desktop picture that pleased me more than an image of a freeway underpass, with its stark, imposing beauty. Although I have yet to find the perfect one, I can safely say that my quest is now nearly at its end, and I will emerge triumphant.
